From Theory to Practice: B.Ed Training Begins

After months of studying lesson plans, teaching strategies, and classroom theories, the moment I had been waiting for finally arrived — stepping into a real classroom. This week marked the start of my B.Ed teacher training at EVHSS Elamannoor with Class 9B. The students’ friendly smiles and lively participation instantly put me at ease, and the welcoming school environment made the transition smooth.

The first week was short but meaningful. With classes only on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday — the other two days being public holidays — I still had enough time to start building rapport. One exciting activity we trainees took part in was conducting quiz competitions to celebrate Library Day, which the students enjoyed enthusiastically. Each lesson and activity gave me a chance to connect, understand their learning styles, and lay the foundation for a bond of trust.

Interaction with the school teachers was equally encouraging. Their warmth, guidance, and practical tips gave me fresh confidence and reminded me that teaching is as much about collaboration as it is about content.

EVHSS is a beautiful place to teach — calm surroundings, vibrant energy, and students eager to learn. I am making a conscious effort to let them know their voices matter and that our classroom is a space for curiosity and growth. Even in these first few days, I can feel that bond beginning to form.

I look forward to the weeks ahead — to new lessons, shared experiences, and the growth we will achieve together. This is just the beginning of my journey from theory to practice, but it already feels like a chapter I will cherish.
